In the 'enter search query', Boolean operators (e.g. 'fish AND experiment'), exclusion (e.g. 'fish -starfish') and phrase searches such as ' “economic impact" ' are possible.

With the 'enter advanced query' field, you can create knowledge maps for a specific research theme or hypothesis. To do so, enter 'dcsubject:"theme:"' or 'dcsubject:"hypothesis:"' followed by the theme or hypothesis of your interest. The advanced query can be used either instead of or together with the regular search query. The advanced query is available for the following themes and hypotheses:

Theme Maps

    dcsubject:"theme:invasion pathway"
    dcsubject:"theme:invasion success"
    dcsubject:"theme:invasion impact"
    dcsubject:"theme:invasion management"

Hypothesis Maps

    dcsubject:"hypothesis:enemy release hypothesis"
    dcsubject:"hypothesis:disturbance hypothesis"
    dcsubject:"hypothesis:biotic resistance hypothesis"
    dcsubject:"hypothesis:invasional meltdown hypothesis"
    dcsubject:"hypothesis:propagule pressure hypothesis"
    dcsubject:"hypothesis:phenotypic plasticity hypothesis"
    dcsubject:"hypothesis:Darwin's naturalization hypothesis"
    dcsubject:"hypothesis:tens rule"
    dcsubject:"hypothesis:limiting similarity hypothesis"
    dcsubject:"hypothesis:island susceptibility hypothesis"

Note that the hypotheses and themes can also be specified by way of their respective Wikidata identifiers, e.g. dcsubject:"wikidata.org/entity/Q115794757" for the disturbance hypothesis.

Alternatively, you can explore our pre-built Theme Maps and Hypothesis Maps.
