In the 'enter search query', Boolean operators (e.g. 'fish AND experiment'), exclusion (e.g. 'fish -starfish') and phrase searches such as ' “economic impact" ' are possible.
With the 'enter advanced query' field, you can create knowledge maps for a specific research theme or hypothesis. To do so, enter 'dcsubject:"theme:"' or 'dcsubject:"hypothesis:"' followed by the theme or hypothesis of your interest. The advanced query can be used either instead of or together with the regular search query. The advanced query is available for the following themes and hypotheses:

Note that the hypotheses and themes can also be specified by way of their respective Wikidata identifiers, e.g. dcsubject:"wikidata.org/entity/Q115794757" for the disturbance hypothesis.
